I was fortunate enough to land a job doing typesetting at a small Houston TX newspaper during a college break (while earning a B.S. degree in Business, nothing remotely artistic!). I absolutely loved the work and learned quickly. Since then, every job I held contained some element of graphic design work and I was able to slowly gain experience and knowledge and start doing freelance graphic design. That was about 25 years ago and I've been doing it ever since, though for the past 10 years or so I've been doing it mostly on a volunteer basis. I truly love being a full time stay-at-home mom and homemaker, but it's still fun for me to have creative outlets and projects and I am blessed and grateful to be able to do so on a typically gratis basis.
